The Virgin and the Child Majesty
The Virgin and Child in Majesty. It is a wood sculptured made out of walnut. There are some traces of linen, paint, and gesso, although they seem faded over time. The Virgin is holding the child in her laps with its feet hanging. The arms of the child are missing, and they appear to have been broken. The faces of the Virgin and the child resemble each other. The sculpture is brown, but there are traces of the original colors of their clothes. They both seem to be wearing silk clothes because of their clothes flowing from their shoulders to their toes. The Virgin seemed to be wearing a blue robe while the child wore a maroon robe, the colors appear faded. They are seated on a carved wooden stool that appears to be painted, although the blooms have faded. The Virgin's head seemed to have been detached because the angle joining it to the right shoulder is slightly shifted to the left. The Virgin's right-hand holds the child's waist while the left-hand has the child's left knee.
Mary's hands are oversized compared to the ratio of her body, and they engulf the child. A side look at the picture reveals the child sitting at the edge of the knees, and there is a wide gap between Mary's stomach and the child's back. The stool has five stands supporting the Mary and the child with the most massive gap between the front sides.
