Importance of the Dinner Party Artwork

Judy Chicago’s masterpiece, the ‘Dinner Party, ‘is considered as the first epic feminist art. The masterpiece is designed in a triangular manner with the names of 39 women that have been instrumental in support of ideas of feminism, such as equality, values, and respect for feminism. The artwork is a historical symbol to remind the world of famous women that took part in civilization (Chicago, 1996). The name of the women inscribed in the dinner table is considered as mythical and famous for having taken part in an essential course of supporting the equality of the sexes. Names such as Virginia Woolf, Empress Theodora, and Susan B. Anthony are considered as some of the most important females to have taken part in the civilization course, and that is why their names are there never to be forgotten.

A significant importance of the masterpiece by Judy Chicago is that it exhibits the vigor that was with women as they were transiting from one point to another. Previously, women were laid back and did not take part in feminism. Sooner than later, women came together to be involved in the feminist movement (Withers, 2018). As an attribute to the outstanding work of brave women that took part in civilization, Judy Chicago to come up with the piece work to have the earlier feminists remembered for their transition and brevity.
