Day of The Dead Calavera
Skull Drawing With Pencil
I have observed art brut on skulls for the Day of the Dead, and this is the second. This skull is a more modern interpretation of the earlier Dia de Los Muertos design, which was more of a generic tribute. It is impossible not to worry about how descendants will view this art if the Day of the Dead is meant to remember the souls of those who have come before us. I was doing stewards of the land and the human legacy we were born into. My political views on war, money, human rights, corruption, and the ruin of the globe led me to decide that this skull should be based on those issues. In the wake of the Power and Glory exhibition, this skull image serves as a reminder to contemplate art brut ideals and the legacy that it will leave behind. When I observed a skull in this, I produced one of my original models. The Dia de Los Muertos aesthetic has been used as a starting point for each head based on an original concept. As a result, I have employed the style to make a point or respect culture or history. Art brut observes the theme of joint endeavor and concludes that the disadvantages of living in a country that has followed an Empire's footsteps should focus on research.
