The painting titled ‘Le Passage’ by Kay Sage expresses intricate themes in life and strong emotions. The art was painted in 1956 and is intended to evoke personal sentiments. This painting relates to our lives since it reflects on themes of sadness, pain, struggle, and loneliness (Sage). The general mood in the picture is sad evident from the darkness and dullness of the clouds. A woman sits lonely on the rocks as she stares into space. This art reflects on the position of women in our societies. Women continue to face different forms of discrimination around the world. The art reminds us of how women are segregated and isolated in our societies. There is a need to drift attention to the plight of women who continuously face violence.

Interestingly, women are the pillars of our generations, yet they are not rewarded for bringing up these generations. Women are often subjected to nudity and morally harsh roles in society. However, gender equality should be addressed since both males and females have the same capabilities. This art indirectly reflects the respect that women should be given. It has unique and outstanding themes that address the issues of women and gender. The artwork depicts the level of appreciation that women must be accorded.

The theme of loneliness is also vastly pronounced in painting. As an introverted person, I can relate to the painting and its value in my life.
