The Downfalls and Benefits of Networking
Social networking is associated with several downfalls. Firstly, it does not give an emotional connection to the users. It is pretty challenging to understand other people's reactions since there is no eye contact. Sometimes people might judge you without understanding the meaning of a message. Secondly, it is not easy to improve on interpersonal skills since it is virtual communication. Interpersonal skills create netiquette which helps people to live with empathy. Thirdly, there is no understanding between the users which is fatal (van der Bank & van der Bank, 2014). Excellent social networking should embrace understanding and provide thoughtful sentiments.
In the process of networking through the social network, a person might become thoughtless and reduce creativity. However, as far as it has negative impacts, social networking has extensive benefits. For example, it provides a platform to connect with other people across the globe. In this case, it is easier to learn new business ideas without traveling across the seas. Communication is instant; hence you do not require to travel to acquire information (van der Bank & van der Bank, 2014). Instant communication has enhanced growth and success in most businesses. Additionally, it is easier to connect with influencers who promote and elevate product campaigns.
The Importance of Indirect Ties
Indirect ties are usually the linking between individuals with no direct relations. On the other hand, direct ties provide a direct connection.
