Do Not Drink and Drive

General-purpose: to explain the dangers involved in driving also using the road while intoxicated.

Specific purpose: to make people learn the dangers of drinking and driving and thus avoid making this mistake.

Statistics of the prevalence of alcohol drinking in the US are super exciting. I would ask, but I know almost everyone here has tasted alcohol at some point in their life, including myself. This is the exciting part. According to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health, almost 85.6 % of individuals from 18 years and above have taken alcohol at some time in their life (Alcohol Facts and Statistics, 2021). So you see, alcohol here is not the issue, neither is drinking. This is an independent life decision made by an individual, and our society teaches us to be warm and respect the opinions and decisions of other people. I am also occasionally invited to various celebrations, and you know how these parties end. Today, I am not here to try and talk you out of drinking because that's not the major issues here, and I am also confident that someone, if not a dozen more, will be tempted to sneak some beer cans to this conference.
