Manufacturing Cars in Mexico

Introduction

Mexico is on the seventh position in the list of countries that manufacture cars and fourth among the exporters. This has taken hard work for Mexico to establish and maintain alongside other factors. The first factor is its geographical location. The theory of trade points out the success of a business as being dependent on its strategic location to the market. Mexico is neighboring the United States which is one of the major markets for automobiles. This has made it possible for Mexico to maintain a high profile in the automobile market. The strategic geographic location also involves its connection to ports in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. This helps ease the transportation of vehicles to other countries (Kitroeff, 2016).

Secondly is the availability of cheap labor. Mexico is a country that has been considered to have the cheapest labor. This labor is also known for its trustworthiness and producing the best quality of cars. This makes it easy to manufacture more vehicles that give enough supply in the market.

The Mexican tax system is very friendly. It provides good incentives to investors that encourage investors to invest in the automobile industry. Its policies are friendly which even boosts the industry even more (Keenan, 2015).

Mexico has also entered into trade agreements with over forty countries which makes business between them friendly. This is another factor that trade theory talks about and which has helped the automobile industry in Mexico to grow positively.
