Some of the positions of power include the Coercive power which imposing threats of force to the individuals to gain compliance. It is based on forcing people to execute duties that he or she might not be interested in. The kind of forces that could be used may include social, political, emotional, physical as well as economic means. Reward force is a common type of power that is based on motivating individuals by providing them with tangibles, emotional, social rewards for doing what is expected of them. This kind of power is useful in management because it increases working efficiency among the workers thus increasing productivity. Expert power is based on the individual's capability, special skills, and experience. It is normally demonstrated by actions, reputations as well as credentials certifying expertise (Taucean et al., 2016). Legitimate power is another power position in leadership. The leaders can either be selected, elected or appointed to a position of authority.
