The Marketing Environment

The management and the Board have taken the necessary steps, and after consultation, have decided to launch a new product in the market, the Android Smart Television. Therefore, marketing research is needed to guarantee the success of marketing the product and in-turn sales. However, it is conducted by an organization to be informed regarding market consumption behavior in connection to the new product. Besides, market research is performed on a continual process to keep up with emerging trends, which helps to gain an advantage over competitors. This information includes; consumer’s needs, type of product needed, when and where they purchase such a product and the frequency of using the product. The purpose of this paper is to outline the process of market research before the launch of Android Smart TV.

Defining the Problem

The management has already identified the market gap and wishes to invest in the new product. The main problem is to identify the primary consumers and their taste of preference. What are the features and quality that is missing in similar products existing in the market? Has technological change affected the choice of consumers? What is the pricing strategy to use in launching the new product? Who are the primary consumers of our new product? This process is essential since it gives the basis of our research in the market (Mooi et al. 2018).
