Introduction
The management and the Board have taken the necessary steps and after consultation, have decided to launch a new product in the market. The new product to be launched is the Android smart television. However, the management needs information regarding market consumption behavior in connection with the new product. This type of information includes the consumers that need the product and why they need that kind of product, when and where they purchase such a product, and the frequency of using the product. The main objective of this paper is to analyze the process that the management will get this information through market research.
Defining the Problem
The management has already identified the market gap and wishes to invest in the new product. The first step in conducting the research is formulating the challenge to research on. The main problem, in this case, is to identify the primary consumers and their taste of preference. What are the features and quality that is missing in similar products existing in the market? Has technological change affected the choice of consumers? What is the pricing strategy to use in launching the new product? Who are the primary consumers of our new product? This process is essential since it gives the basis of our research in the market (Mooi et al. 2018).
Determine and prepare a research plan
This step involves obtaining the best type of research to carry out and give relevant information as per the research problem.
