In this term project, I have decided to study Walmart Inc., a Fortune 500 company with its headquarters in the United States, which has been the largest corporation in the United States regarding revenue for more than 10 years. I chose Walmart due to its international impact, large scale of operations, and because it is a leader in the retail market. Walmart makes a good case study in implementing management principles, as this company influences millions of consumers and employees all around the globe (Walmart Inc., 2025a). Its capability of sustaining a lead in the market amid the economic, social, and technological shifts makes it a perfect object of study in comprehending the current management practices. Moreover, Walmart's high profile means that it has a lot of publicly available information that could be used to satisfy the project's needs, such as its history, structure, organizational culture, and sustainability efforts. The research on Walmart provides a chance to investigate how an international retail giant can combine innovation, efficiency, and social responsibility in a competitive business environment.
Walmart appeals to me because of its reputation for operational excellence and elaborate management approaches underpinning its extensive supply chain and workforce.
