Importance of International Business
International business is important because it allows companies and countries to expand their markets and gain access to goods and services that are not available domestically. Also, good that would be expensive when locally produced can be accessed at affordable rates. Companies and nations can choose between broad range of goods and services. Because of the varying natural resources and units of capital, such as land, technology, capital, and labor, some nations and firms are able to produce certain goods efficiently with less costs than others (Abhishek, 2013). These relative advantages make them best placed to specialize in the production of specific goods and services, leading to specialization.
Another crucial aspect of international business is that it enables nations and companies to specialize in the production of goods and services that they have a comparative advantage and avoid wasting resources. This arrangement allows producing companies to convert their surplus resources to revenue. Since global business fuels innovation, competition, and economies of scale, companies and countries are always improving their production processes and investing in research to gain competitive and comparative advantage in certain products or services.
Another importance of international business is lowering costs for consumers. The competitive nature of the international market forces companies to reduce retail prices to allow consumers pay fair prices. International trade has also created employment for millions of people all over the globe, especially in the supply chains and distribution sector.
