Executive Summary for Loan Recommendation for Ace Company
To: The Senior Management Team,
RE: Recommendation on $3 Million 10-Year Loan Request
Ace Company has requested for a 3 million dollars, 10-year loan to fund new production equipment and related software. After thorough review of the company financial statements and key ratios, I recommend that the bank approves this loan (Weygandt et al., 2015, p. 472). Ace Company has a good growth in profitability, positive interest coverage potential, and acceptable leverage, whereas the liquidity and inventory management, though lower than in the previous year, are within a reasonable range for a growing manufacturing company expanding its capacity.
The level of profitability has improved significantly. Net income increased by 61 percent, from 2.15 million dollars in 2021 to 3.468 million dollars in 2022, driving the net profit margin from 11.3 percent to 15.8 percent. Gross margin has increased to 47.7 percent from 44.7 percent, and this reflects the enhanced pricing power or an improvement in cost management (Garrison et al., 2021, p. 41). Earnings per share were also raised, from 3.59 to 5.78 dollars, and the dividend payout ratio decreased from 55.8 percent to 34.6%, which retained more cash for investment.
The efficiency in the collection of accounts receivable has been enhanced. The accounts receivable turnover ratio improved as it went up to 4.58 times in 2021 and was 5.
