Feedforward, Feedback, and Concurrent Control Systems in Effective Organization Management: A Walmart Case Study
Overview
This paper examines effective organization management through a case study of Walmart Inc., analyzing three control methods used in management: feedforward control, feedback control, and concurrent control. The author argues that these control mechanisms work independently yet interactively to maintain steady production and operations by preventing slowness in response, measuring process values, and regulating activities in progress without interrupting other operations.
What this case study covers
- Introduction and organizational context using Walmart as an example
- Feedforward control method and its role in avoiding delays through corrective actions
- Feedback control and concurrent control mechanisms for measuring and regulating processes

DB: Effective Organization Management
An organization I am familiar with is Walmart Inc. In Walmart, the management has to control all the processes taking place in the company to give it a steady system of production and operations. For feedforward, management uses the control method to ensure that they avoid slowness in feedback control (Ranjith, 2017). According to the control method, it is for use in the corrective actions to avoid upsets in any running processes. For feedback control, it is used to measures value in a process and reacts to the change in the value measured. When an activity is not in control in one stage of production in the company, it affects other activities running in the company. Concurrent control takes place when an activity is in progress. It means that there are regulations made while the company has an activity running without having to interrupt other activities. All the controls lead to effective management since they slightly interact making them independent activities.
