Changing Trends in Human Resource Management
Despite the size of a company, Human Resource Management is a key component in the foundation of the company. Due to the changing landscape of work, HR trends also need to adjust and become effective in novel dynamic work environments. Some of the causes of the dynamism in the workplace include but not limited to accelerating innovations that change the human resource in a company and ever-present technologies that are replacing the prevailing business models (Norton, 2014). The workforce in a company is becoming more socially, economically, and culturally diverse, which leads to the new and developed social contract between the employers and the employees (Norton, 2014).
In order to become more profitable in a competitive and diverse workplace environment, leaders have to seek new models and approaches to replace obsolete ones. The new models are focused on agility, reliability, and flexibility of the workplace. In the new workplace structure, business culture holds an essential part of the organization (Heathfield, 2016). This helps the organization to spice up business strategy as it maintains an environment where the workers can give instant feedback on the existing models. This flexible model requires human resource managers to keep learning about new trends and technology that can effectively improve business.
The government and the economy have also affected the dynamics of HR, resulting in new trends in every HR department in an organization.
