Unit 10 Discussion 2
If I would be given an opportunity to participate in an overseas health organization, I would like to work with the World Health Organization. This is because the organization offers opportunity to serve people across the world, especially by taking part in epidemiological research and leading campaigns against prevalent diseases. The aspect of epidemiology I would like to work on within the organization is investigating the prevalence of preventable diseases and identifying epicenters of outbreaks. My regional focus would be developing countries, particularly those in Africa and Asia. This will offer me an opportunity to directly work with people who are disadvantaged and lack sufficient resources to deal with common diseases like Cholera and Malaria. I would connect with the organization by formulating or creating incentives for conducting further research on important issues affect the population.
