A Self-Study Program for Learning Behavioral Terms and Concepts Using SAFMEDS and Digital Tools
Overview
This self-experiment study examines the effectiveness of using SAFMEDS (Say All Fast a Minute Every Day Shuffled) combined with digital tools to develop fluency in learning behavioral terms and concepts. The learner utilized 100 Quizlet flashcards to systematically replicate previous research methods, measuring performance through timed exercises and charting accuracy and error rates. The analysis demonstrates that daily practice with digital SAFMEDS enhanced learning patterns and behavioral fluency compared to traditional study approaches.
What this lab report covers
- Introduction establishing fluency as an essential concept and SAFMEDS methodology developed by Ogden Lindsley
- Methods section describing the self-study approach using Quizlet flashcards with 1-minute timed exercises
- Results and analysis of corrects versus 'not yets' recorded across multiple timed practice sessions
- Discussion comparing digital tool effectiveness to previous studies on behavioral learning

Abstract
The learner utilized 100 Quizlet SAFMEDS to study and learn behavioral terms and concepts through analysis of fluency. The critical behavioral terms were related to SAFMEDS and were created on Quizlet. Through the exercises, the learner would read through the cards and silently vocalize what was on the back. After that, a timed exercise was undertaken for 1 minute. The number of corrects and not yets were recorded and charted. Through the analysis, the self-study established a learning pattern as the learner increased the timed exercises. Moreover, compared to previous studies, the use of digital tools effectively enhanced the effectiveness of the self-experiment.

A Self-Study Program for Learning Behavioral Terms and Concepts
Fluency is an essential concept that determines the fluency of behaviors, which is defined by the accuracy and speed of performance. In studying these factors, Say All Fast a Minute Every Day Shuffled (SAFMEDS) is an essential tool used to understand the fluency of performance and determine the verbal repertoires.
