Learning is a continuous process that continues even after graduating. Some of these lessons are improved throughout the learning course (Riley, 2015). In my masters, I have expanded my knowledge of the importance of listening. Riley (2015) says that communication is a fundamental factor in nursing practice despite its level. Listening is an integral part of effective communication, which subsequently translates to improved healthcare services.

In managerial instances, Wagner et al. (2015) say that communication runs the healthcare sector. Most people in administrative positions are dictators who suppress the democracy of the people working below them. Such people give orders that they do not want to questioned and even punishes those who challenge them. I have learned that being too bossy and depriving people of their democratic privileges lowers the performance and healthcare quality. It is crucial for people who hold executive offices to listen to their juniors and share ideas on handling situations. This way, you are assured of quality healthcare services.

As a nurse, it is crucial to listen to patients well. It is dangerous to leave out other details because it might lead to the treatment of a wrong disorder through misplaced drug prescription. We always need to listen to the patients' caretakers to get other details the patient might leave out and help in the treatment process. Assessment calls for extra carefulness (Riley, 2015).
