The Existence of God: A Defense of Christian Belief Against Atheistic Objections

Overview

This apologetics essay presents arguments defending Christian belief in God's existence against atheistic rejection. The author counters an initial objection to Christianity by providing four primary defense arguments: cosmological creation, religious consensus across world religions, unexplained natural phenomena, and faith as sufficient justification for belief.

Question

I reject Christianity because I do not believe in God, and I think having such faith actually affects people really hard. I also do not believe God is ever existing.

Defense

Arguments about religion and personal beliefs are arguments that never end. We might even end up getting hurting each other in the process of the argument. As a Christian, I believe in God, and I believe in His existence. I believe that God exists because the universe and everything in it must have been created, and only God can do all that fantastic work. The second reason why I believe in the existence of God is in line with the many religions that exist in the world. These different religions all believe in one God. They all cannot be undoubtedly wrong about the existence of God. The third reason is that many unexplained things and beyond human explanation happen. As a Christian, I believe these are deeds by God. He is the only one who can perform such unexplained things. Lastly is that we do not necessarily need to have evidence to believe that God exists. Faith should work out everything for us, including believing that God exists (Rios et al., 961).

Therefore;

  1. The universe and everything in it was created by God.

It is incredible the things that exist in the universe. There is no clear explanation of how the planets, stars, oceans, the plantation, creatures, among other things, came into existence.
