Servant Leadership
Joe Schmitt practices great servant leadership, which helps in building integrity and personal character. Having been in service with authorities for more than 27 years, Joe is not selfish with the experience that he has achieved. He uses what he has learned while in service to teach the community, state, federal, and local agencies on the best ways to lead others and serve others. Talks given by Joe are a good indication of making people have good characters in whatever they do and, at the same time, ensure they have integrity (Schmitt, 2014). In short, Jos passes good leadership characters to fellow citizens, which shows that he cares for people just like a servant leader would do.
Establishing followership and encouraging others to grow is a great kind of servant leadership. Making follows means that one would have loyal people to work even when a leader is a way. Followers are also important as they help in making one honest as a leader, as it would be difficult to have under dealings when one is leading many (Schmitt, 2014). On the other hand, encouraging others to grow enables many servant leaders to come up who would help in running affairs of an organization when the leader is not there as competence, and hard work will have been impacted on others.
Establishi9ng followers and encouraging others to grow are principles envisioned by Greenleaf in his principles of stewardship and development of people.
