Self-evaluation and reflection are healthy because it helps a person to forecast their future by gauging their current progress. This work reflects on my progress in coding, what I have learned and how it will help me once I secure a job as a professional coder.
As a student, learning coding is very beneficial to me. Coding will help me focus on practical skills to enhance my grades. Coding is very engaging and needs total attention. Learning it will help enhance my attention, mainly the focus on practical skills. It is often fun learning how to code in a group because it enhances my understanding of the different medical codes. Some of the medical terminologies are very hard to memorize and are better represented by codes. This is very important throughout my learning because it simplifies things for me. Therefore, learning how to code is crucial for me and my career as it builds and prepares me for my profession.
To be perfect as a medical coder, I need to learn it thoroughly when I have the perfect opportunity. As a medical coder, there is no room for mistakes as it is a sensitive profession that deals with human life. Any gambling and guesswork might lead to severe damage to a person's body or even death (Buck, 2016). It is essential to learn coding well to avoid such shortcomings.
