Organizational Culture and Readiness Assessment for Evidence-Based Practice Implementation in Healthcare Systems
Overview
This paper examines organizational culture and readiness assessment for implementing evidence-based practice (EBP) in healthcare settings, using US San Diego Health as a case study. It identifies facilitators such as community-focused culture and barriers such as leadership composition diversity, arguing that assessing organizational readiness is essential before implementing system-wide EBP integration.

Organizational Culture and Readiness Assessment
In the daily operations of an organization's activities, business aspects do not perform effectively as expected. Underperforming areas in an organization, therefore, need specific measures in ensuring they perform as expected. However, before making any case for an evidence-based project (EBP), it is prudent to understand an organization's culture. A tailored EBP implementation plan can be designed to meet the expected purpose(s) in understanding an organization's culture. The health care system comprises different health organizations in clinical practice. With factors such as patient safety, quality of health services, and EBP being critical, certain EBP factors should be considered in an implementation plan. Organizational culture and readiness for system-wide integration of EBP survey, EBP beliefs, and EBP implementation scale are critical aspects of implementing an EBP plan.
Organizational culture and readiness for system-wide integration of EBP measure cultural aspects against the willingness to adopt an EBP compared to six months ago. Through the US San Diego Health, the organization aims at serving the local population through communal integration Kamalam (2017). As part of San Diego Health, an outreach program is created to involve the surrounding community in health activities, for example, health education. In the present era, the world is highly dynamic, with the health sector not being spared. The health sector is dynamic too, health organizations' readiness to patients' needs will be affected. Therefore, the organizational culture needs to be assessed against the preparedness for system-wide integration of EBP.
