Introduction
Children with special needs must be protected against any form of discrimination within the education system. The non-discriminatory evaluation laws are intended to provide frameworks to warrant every child has an opportunity to learn. Through these incentives, educational agencies advocate for legislations that aim to make learning equitable and fair for all. Some of these laws include the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The provisions of the act mandate that students must be evaluated based on customized procedures based on their unique needs and abilities.
During the evaluation process, only the evaluator and the student must be present. This ensures privacy and interests of students are safeguarded. A non-discriminatory evaluation processor must be deemed valid based on the education standards. There must be no bias for or against an individual or group of individuals. First, the tests must be administered in the language that students understand, and associated factors such as costs and other barriers must be eliminated to warrant realistic outcomes.
