Nursing is a significant profession because it deals with saving the lives of human beings. It is a challenging profession that is best described as a calling. To be at par, nurses should undergo thorough training to acquire the necessary leadership qualities and skills. My education at Walden University is a personal mission to acquire the leadership skills and knowledge to discharge my functions as a nurse as well as collaborate with my fellow nurses and other disciplines to discharge the best services. It is only through education that I will acquire the expertise necessary for my profession.
Nursing calls for one to be critically careful while discharging the duties. Carefulness is a quality that should be adopted by any leader and exercised in collaboration with other parties. I believe that my life at Walden will equip me with the necessary skills to enforce the virtue of carefulness. For instance, in surgery rooms, being careful is a crucial virtue. Nurses need to be careful in taking care of the patients being operated on or those waiting to be operated. According to Ma, Shang & Bott (2015), collaboration among nurses results in better and quality services. The expertise that I am getting will enable me to collaborate and deliver my services well.
Collaboration with other stakeholders will be a driving force in my service to ensure patient care is at its best.
