Leadership Self-Assessment
A health care professional filled the questionnaire, and the average score on each leadership behavior ranged from 3.5-4.5. According to the questionnaire, only one leadership attribute is not efficient compared to other behaviors. The questionnaire interprets that the respondent displays all the leadership behavior except one. Great leaders are born with particular abilities, but the behavior is taught and refined over time (Covey, 2011). Leadership behaviors include providing direction to people, possess the courage to guide, and promote teamwork. Other leadership behaviors include implementing change, coaching and developing people, act as a source of motivation, build a working relationship, and have integrity. The correspondent was a DON who was positively positive to provide necessary and relevant information about their daily activities.
As a health professional in a clinical setting, bringing people along by giving them direction makes me a teacher and coach to pursue a common goal among my colleagues. I will give them direction by working with them and help them uncover their potential and strengthen them. Having the courage to leaders' others in the health department is essential since it gives people the required space to stretch out their creative minds. I will lead people courageously by looking at peoples and issues from different perspectives concerning our careers and fostering teamwork in the clinic setting through training and understanding the importance of teamwork among my colleagues in the clinics.
