Participating in the championships should build a student's leadership skills. Moreover, there is a need to maintain a high degree of professionalism, ensuring that all team members meet all requirements. In this scenario, it is the star players' responsibility to act as role models of not only good sportsmanship but also adhering to rules or policies set for the team. Therefore, the best decision the coach can take is not to allow the two-star players to participate in the game. This is important in instilling discipline within the team beyond winning championship games.
Moreover, since the two-star players failed to meet the required minimum grade, it is appropriate for them not to participate in the game. When they do not participate in the game, the coach can offer other players opportunities to participate in the game and probably reveal their unique abilities as team players. The two-star players must be suspended from the team and ensure that they adhere to the policy. It is the responsibility of the coach to build a culture of positivity and following the established guidelines.
This will be a basis for instilling discipline within the team and ensuring that all members work hard to attain better grades while improving their game performance. As an individual, I believe that the team can still perform better without the two players' involvement. Their success of the team is determined by different factors, including the maintenance of discipline and standards.
