Week 12 Discussion: Reflection on Drafting Research Paper #2
Drafting Research Paper #2 was a challenging and rewarding experience. One of the most difficult parts for me was integrating sources into the body paragraphs while maintaining a natural flow in my writing. Making sure that each source was properly cited and that it clearly supported my arguments required careful attention. I also found it challenging to avoid simply summarizing sources and instead focus on analyzing and connecting them to my thesis. Organizing the paper in a logical way, especially when transitioning between key points like equality, bullying, and school community, also took some effort.
On the other hand, developing my main arguments was easier because I had already created a detailed outline. The outline helped me stay focused and ensured that each paragraph supported my thesis. Writing the introduction and conclusion was also manageable since I had a clear understanding of my position on school uniforms and the key points I wanted to emphasize.
For revision, my plan is to carefully review my paper for clarity, grammar, and sentence structure. I will also check that all in-text citations match my reference page and follow APA guidelines correctly. Additionally, I plan to strengthen transitions between paragraphs and ensure that each section flows smoothly. Finally, I will reread my thesis and confirm that all body paragraphs directly support it, making my argument as clear and effective as possible.
