A. INTRODUCTION
East Baltimore Medical Center is a medical center located on 1000 E. Eager Street, Baltimore, MD 21202 (Johns Hopkins, 2021). The hospital was initially an affiliate of Johns Hopkins Institutions but is now a Baltimore Medical System health center (A community health center serving the Baltimore region). The center, which hires about 70 clinicians, is on a mission to ”improve health, wellness, and quality of life of the communities it serves by availing safe, high quality, accessible, and affordable healthcare” (BMSI, 2021). Its vision is to be the preferred medical center for its patients and employer of choice for its staff. The facility has an occupational injury clinic that conducts a post-exposure evaluation and management of work-related illnesses and injuries, including blood-borne pathogen injuries. This paper will evaluate all health hazards in the medical center, including chemical hazards, biological hazards, physical hazards, and psychosocial hazards. It will also provide suggestions for possible controls and relevant WAC standards, over and above, worksite schematics of workplace hazards.
