Faith Sharing: Growing in Faith in the Time of COVID-19
The coronavirus pandemic has challenged my faith and understanding of God. Through the challenging experiences, I found myself questioning how the outbreak wrecked people’s lives, including believers. My concern was on the role of God throughout the happenings. I was not sure how to respond to the pandemic as a believer. Through the experiences, I have learned that faith enables people to endure difficult times. The understanding emanated from the time I spent with my family. The government canceled physical church gatherings, forcing us to organized family devotions. We read the Bible and prayed together for about thirty minutes. We established a routine that favored each person within the family. Every weak, we would focus on one theme in the Bible.
The sessions strengthened our faith and comforted us during the lockdown. It was an opportunity to learn essential issues about faith and belief in God. Although social isolation and anxiety from media reports, the activities we adopted during the lockdown cemented trust in God. The lockdown was an opportunity to build a strong relationship with God. Bible reading was an effective way to learn the fundamental Christian doctrines and established a ground for growth in my faith. I evaluated my faith and found that I had a superficial view of God before the lockdown. I was constantly wavering and not steadfast in my walk with God.
