Critical Review
I am a strong proponent of environmental conservation and sustainable development. As an environmentalist, I am always advocating for the sustainable management of resources to safeguard future generations. Mechanisms to avoid environmental destruction must be avoided. Humans rely on the environment for day-to-day sustenance and also to guarantee the survival of coming generations. Notably, the environment is the principal means to sustain our food chain. According to my worldview, the destruction of the environment is posing threats to the existence of humans. The survival of the human population hugely relies on a well-conserved environment, which can replenish itself with minimal challenges. As per my worldview, anthropogenic activities such as farming cause environmental degradation, which relates to the issues presented in the article.
Conserving the environment direct benefits people and wildlife. Based on my worldview, the potential influence of conserving the environment is enhancing the self-sustenance of the ecosystem. As humans, we exist in a symbiotic relationship with other organisms. Any disruption within the surrounding destroys habitats of other organisms and causes pollution. This can cause the extinction of other animals, birds, or microorganisms that directly benefit people (Scavia, 2015). Therefore, conserving the environment should prioritize man's activities as witnessed in industrial corn farming. After reading the article, it is clear that conservation of the environment is an effective remedy for Toledo residents.
The article is based in Toledo, Ohio, located on the western tip of River Erie.
