The long-term objective of this exercise was to involve the elderly to take up the COVID-19 vaccine. However, the with underlying situation, many of them failed to show up for the exercise and the job demanded from me to call them through phone and convince them make up an appointment.

The activities conducted involved making a personal call and a plea so that they would make the vital step of getting vaccinated. I would make at least 20 phone calls daily to the elderly and ask the staff to help them understand why the vaccination exercise was of significance. Notably, I specifically involved the nurses who frequently informed me of the progress and attempt of the elderly to seek these services. Majority of the targeted group went and received the jabs and were satisfied with outcome. The nurses attending to the elderly particularly took a leading role in ensuring the vaccination process happened. In addition, there were scheduled meetings that comprised of the nurses and the elderly. Such meetings were put in place to make the actual confirmation that in deed the vaccination process happened and all the clients received the jabs. In addition, the meetings organized another round of vaccination exercise for those who missed.

Generally, the outcome of the exercise was acceptable. Notably, the exercise achieved its objective because many of the elderly got the COVID vaccine in a timely manner.
