Diversity and Social Justice

Introduction

The issue of social justice had been a significant issue across the globe. The topic of social inequalities often leads to concerns about how certain people ate disadvantaged and discriminated, mistreated, and oppressed. There is also an essential concern about how some people are privileged and enjoy benefits as they oppress other people. Power is defined as having influence, authority over people, and resources. Privilege is expressed on personal, relational, and cultural as well and recognized levels. It gives opportunities and advantages to the individuals of the ruling groups at the cost of the followers of the aimed groups. Oppression is a combination of prejudice and official power that established a scheme that distinguishes in contradiction of some teams and the profits of others. The issue of diversity has more demanded a policy of inclusion and equity among the different social classes. Equity is the art of exercising fairness and appreciating that some groups have limited access to some social elements of a society, including education, health, and employment opportunities. Diversity refers to the existence of people from different racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds within the same locality. A deeper understanding of the social issues of power, oppression, and privilege in the contexts of diversity and social justice helps appreciate the existence of the different problems within a social construct.
