Week 3: Meatless Meal Planning
Following a vegetarian diet is considered healthy living. Vegetarianism encompasses multiple eating patterns that heavily rely on plant foods while avoiding meat. Some vegetarians exclude every animal product, while others have limitations on the animal products they consume (Clifford & Kozil, 2017). Many individuals are adopting the vegetarian lifestyle for various reasons. This piece will discuss the Pesco vegetarians and generally analyze their daily menu. Notably, pesco vegetarians eat plant foods and fish. It is a vegetarian diet, usually a plant-based diet of legumes, whole grains, nuts, and other seafood. In a day, a pesco vegetarian can have a well-balanced diet.
A morning breakfast can include pan-fried sardine fillets on toast. The good thing with sardines is that they are cheap, and one does not have to break the bank to enjoy a dish. Besides, they are easy to prepare. One needs 6 fresh sardine fillets, olive oil, lemon juice, chili pepper, and salt for two people. This meal is suitable for anyone since they contain omega-3 and the healthy fats needed in a diet. During lunch, mackerel and green bean salad can work for a pesco vegetarian. It takes about 12 minutes to prepare. It’s made with green beans, garden peas, and sugar snap peas.
For dinner, vegan red lentil curry would be good. Lentil curries are very delicious and nutritious at the same time. One can use any fresh vegetable while preparing lentil curries.
