Introduction
The nursing profession is made up of different types of nurse specialties. Nevertheless, the roles of all these specialties entail providing direct health care to patients. However, the responsibilities of the nurses tend to vary depending on their area of specialization. Notably, this paper will focus on providing a detailed comparison between cardiovascular disease nurse practitioners and mental health nurses.
Step 1: Comparison of Nursing Specialties
Both cardiovascular disease nurse practitioners and mental health nurses play a significant role in the nursing profession. To begin with, cardiac nurse practitioners work along with cardiologists and other healthcare providers to promote and provide care for patients with cardiovascular-related problems (Kerr, Kalowes & Dyo, 2017). Cardiac nurses have high education and experience to ensure that they can diagnose, treat, and manage health conditions related to the cardiovascular system. They are nurse specialists who can assess patients for different acute and chronic illnesses and also involved in the management of these illnesses by providing medications to the patients as well as monitoring the results of various medication and treatment approaches (Kerr, Kalowes & Dyo, 2017). More so, the cardiac nurse practitioners are involved in providing cardiovascular health education to patients and families (Kerr, Kalowes & Dyo, 2017).
