Picture Critique

The picture is a medium shot of a boy captured while suspended on air. The photographer took a fantastic shot with the subject right in the middle of the photo frame. The boy in the picture is flipping in the trampoline. The graphic elements show that the image is dynamic. The subject in the photo is suspended in the air with its shadow cast on the trampoline. It is so amazing how technology allows us to capture such amazing moments that only come with good use of a camera. The image, however, is a bit blurring because the photographer, probably, did not adjust the point of focus to capture a much clearer picture. This functionality is a bit hard to apply to a moving object. The blur in the image affects the eyes a little bit. Another reason for the blurring could be the photographer used a camera of a low resolution. Freeman (2014) says that lower resolutions mean the pixels would be fewer, making it not very clear.

The lighting of the image is perfect. The photographer took the shot from an angle that ensures the subject reflects light directly to the camera without interference from the lighting of the scene, which is light from the sun as seen from clear skies and the position of the subject’s shadow. Light plays a significant role in helping the viewer identify the subject in the picture.
