Two-Party System in the United States (USA)
In the world of politics, there are countries regarded as superpowers politically by other nations. The United States of America, (USA), for example, is a political powerhouse which can be attributed to its political structures. Political structures, for instance, can include the formulation of a party system with some nations opting for a multi-party system. The USA, however, developed a two-party system in her political structure which has existed for a considerable long time. The two-party system appears to be working for the Americans since the system continues to enjoy massive support from US citizens in the electoral process. The US developed the two-part system due to certain political factors playing out in the country’s demography.
Firstly, the two-party system moderates political strife especially on animosities. In trying to appeal for support from different population groups, a political party must present a program addressing the challenges of population groups. In this manner of addressing challenges faced by population groups, a political party will reach out for the views of the locals. After getting major challenges facing population groups, the party can orchestrate an issue-based manifesto when it rises to power. When the two parties attempt to provide solutions to the challenges of its populace animosities based on political strife will be reduced.
Secondly, unlike a single-party system that can be dictatorial, a two-party system promotes stability to the present government.
