The Historical Roots of the Palestine, Israel and the Arab-Israeli Conflict

The Palestine, Israel, and the Arab-Israeli Conflict is a pertinent issue that has dominated the Middle East for almost a century. The problem is of great significance because of the deaths in the area and the destruction of people's livelihoods. There has also been a rise in terror groups because of the conflict taking place in that region. No permanent solution has been found to resolve the issue because of hardliners on both sides of the divide. This article can be used to explain how the endurance of the Israel/Palestine conflict is a legacy of collapsing multinational empires starting with the British Empire and the Ottoman Empire. It will also analyze the historical roots of Palestine, Israel, and the Arab-Israeli Conflict.

The Historical Roots of the Palestine, Israel and the Arab-Israeli Conflict

Some people believe that the conflict in the Middle East is between two religious ideologies. However, although religion plays a crucial role in the conflict, the main reason for the Palestine, Israel, and the Arab-Israeli Conflict is the belief that the land is rightful theirs (Beinin and Hajjar 2). According to the Israelis, Palestine is their land because it was promised to them by God. God gave their forefathers the land, and it is their right to dwell in Israel. However, the Palestinians claim that the Israelites cannot use religion as a basis for claiming the land.
