Diversity Reflection

12th March 2020, I was standing on a pavement connecting the community library to an adjacent building, which I believe, was an office of an international NGO. I was in deep thought, considering how life was unfolding in the world. Never in my life had I imagined that the world would be overcome but such fear. Valuable lessons in life come at a strange time. More was to unfold in the next hours. While I was standing there considering how life would develop in the coming days, I never knew that I had not seen it all. That evening, I had planned to visit Tom, a friend we met in high school. After graduating, Tom relocated to Texas, and it was seven years now since we last met. We bumped into each other when I was in town, and we resolved to meet. Tom came back to New York to start his new job. He was hired as a music producer for a local music label.

When I arrived at Tom's place, I met Damaris, his girlfriend. I have raised up a staunch Christian, and I firmly believed that people should never have sexual relations before getting married. This was an issue I believed and obeyed. I knew that there was a right time for everything, and sex was only suited for marriage. We started to talk about many issues, how life has been since we last met, and my future plans.
