The Culture Industry
The culture industry has seen its effectiveness in robbing people of their imaginations by using mass media power. Horkheimer and Adorno have intensively exposed this through the masses' enlightenment on falling victim to the widespread mass deception. The mash-up between Beyonce's "halo' and Kelly's "already gone" creates an emotion that can be misleading to the masses. Through the hegemonic ideologies that pass on from the mass media to direct consumption of the public. This move of embracing the culture industry robs people's ability to think on their own soberly in sovereignty.
Their reaction to the marsh-up will confirm the idea that the output of the culture industry is the same and only some rearrangement of lyrics and some standard sets of clichés. The mash-up has been confirmed to use a similar style of mass presentation of their ideas while using just some rearranged songs .this portrays how the masses can fall victim to mass manipulation without considering the effect of the culture industry. In case of action has not been taken, the societal culture will fall under the manipulation of the culture industry, which powerfully uses mass media to pass on their ideologies.
"There is nothing left for the consumer to classify. Producers have done it for him. Art for the masses has destroyed the dream but still conforms to the tenets of that dreaming idealism which critical idealism balked at. Everything derives from consciousness".
