Laughter is the Best Medicine
A good sense of humor should be prioritized in our self-care kit. Many studies show that laughter affects our minds and brains. Laughter has no side effects, it is readily available, and has no overdose. It does not affect anyone in the environment and can change our perspectives, relieve stress, and boost immunity. It helps muscles to relax, lowers pulse rate, and body pressure. The body stress response is countered by laughter because it reduces stress-causing hormones. People should laugh many times because of the positive physiological and psychological effects. Natural painkillers are provided during laughter, thus increase body tolerance to pain. During laughter, the diaphragm relaxes and contracts the abs out to the shoulders to help in muscle relaxation. Laurence Peter, a former physician, noted that laughter is a good heart workout, effective in reducing tension and produces long-lasting relief. In this regard, laughter makes people more understanding and take things easy. It, therefore, allows people to cope with diversity and eliminate eliminating cases of aggression, anger, and guilt. Even when you are unsure about what you are laughing about, people will be more interested in connecting and laughing with you. Try to crack a joke during a heated debate, tension evaporates, and interpersonal cohesion thrives. You can survive anything with improved immunity, reduced stress, a positive attitude, and better copying perspectives. Raise your laughter levels!
