The best-recommended policy is the reallocation of the federal government funds. The high number of the homeless population indicates that the agencies concerned do not have sufficient resources to counter the issue. It is a call that there need to before funds channeled to the homelessness issues. The increasing number of homeless people implies the rise in the number of poverty and healthcare spending. The individuals living on the streets are prone to poor health conditions following the poor hygiene in these street homes and camps (Coker et al., 2009). Such conditions make individuals unable to look for employment opportunities. The education levels for the homeless population is inferior and may not earn them their desired jobs. Their inability to access/afford excellent health services makes the country spend more on healthcare. A decline in the number of homeless people implies that there will be a decline in healthcare spending. Most people will be able to access health services, live healthily and have the right education and mindset to contribute to the economy (Cobb-Clark & Zhu, 2017).

The federal government has also spent 50% of its discretionary spending on the military. Notably, the military is a highly significant unit in a country. However, exaggerating its budgets or overspending on the other sections of concerns as done with the military is not a guarantee of excellence.
