Article on Fatigue for Ferry Employees, 17 Dec 2019
In this article, fatigue is blamed for separating ferry employees from their families and even leading to accidents and incidents while on the shore. The article looks at the circumstances in which ferry employees have to work in and the problems that they encounter while in the water masses. The author has used several words that bring about a tone that can be described as wanting or worrying about ferry workers. One of the words that direct the message that the reader wants is; challenging, which is used to show the harshness of the circumstances that ferry workers find themselves in.’ Negative Impact’ is the other word that is widely used, which is intended to describe the impact that comes from working for long hours in the sea industry (Solveig et al., 2019). Furthermore, there is the use of the word ‘irregular,’ which has been used to describe how unfair it is for ferry workers to work for long hours.
A significant bias that can be seen within the article is when the author looks at the impacts that are faced by ferry workers without considering that ferry workers earn a living. The author concentrates more on the negative effects that are faced by ferry workers without looking at the benefits that the said ferry workers get. Several words within the text can be changed to alter the opinion of a reader.
