Evaluating Scientists' Arguments on the Transformation of the Earth

Overview

This essay examines and compares the competing scientific arguments presented by George Cuvier, Charles Lyell, and James Hutton regarding Earth's transformation. The paper evaluates the validity of each scientist's claims by considering their research methodologies, evidence from geological features such as crustal plates and Earth's interior, and the credibility of their research systems.

Evaluating scientists arguments on the transformation of the earth

The topic of the transformation of the earth is one that has been discussed a lot. Several scientists have tried to give their views on the way the earth was transformed. George Cuvier, Charles Lyell, and James Hutton are some of the scientists that, in a big way, tried to challenge the other on the transformation of the earth. Each of the scientists tried to come up with their argument on how the solar system was transformed. Matters of contention have been the number of years that the earth took to be transformed, the process in which the earth was transformed, and the contents of the earth (NASA, 2020). As much as there came to be an agreement on the contents of parts of the earth like the interior and exterior, arguments cannot go untouched.

To find out whose argument was valid among the three scientists, one would have to look at the research done by any scientists. In addition, looking at the research systems and those involved in the research would lead to the realization of the scientists whose agreement would hold water. In order to buy an argument for the mentioned scientists, it would be good to look at factors regarding the plates and how they were formed. This is a critical component of the earth, and it is what is important while looking at which argument holds water.
