Early Ethics
Children grow up, minding more of what their hearts want without considering is that their desires are ethically right or wrong (Alderson & Morrow, 2020). Growing up as a child, I also lived on the rule. I was such a calm child to my parents, who always praised me in their friends' faces. Little did they know that I had another side apart from generally being a good child. The public image earned me a scholarship to a local school. However, I made a mistake that gave me the most challenging dilemma of my lifetime.
I got my scholarship when joining the junior secondary school. My family is not wealthy, meaning the scholarship was a significant financial relief to my parents, who advised me to behave well not to lose the scholarship. Back in my new school, students were not allowed to own mobile phones. The only time we were allowed to use mobile phones was on the weekend. We only communicated to parents when there were burning issues. Otherwise, the school secretary communicated with parents on our behalf.
I could bear not communicating with my parents and friends until the school went on holiday. I decided to sneak a mobile phone into the school compound and paid our school security guard to help me keep it. I communicated with my friends at least twice a week, and everything was okay.
