Abstract

Human life has many challenges and people are forced to cope with these issues. In the case, George has experienced numerous successes through his life, such as being a legal scholar and teaching at the local university law school in Oregon. From a Christian perspective, there is a direct link between suffering and the fall of Adam and Eve. The context started with Adam and Eve lived in the garden of Eden where they were required to care for God's creations and subdue the earth. George can relate the suffering to sin and rebellion against God and as a consequence of the curse pronounced after Adam and Eve rebelled. Based on the Christian worldview, George should consider his life as a gift from God amid the ALS. In this regard, it is God who is allowed to take away this gift. As a Christian, George is expected to endure the disease and other experiences linked with the condition.
