Abstract

This written assignment will begin by defining the communication process, including the seven steps of ideation, encoding, transmission, receiving, decoding, understanding, and feedback. The assignment will provide an example of communication, identify the four steps, and illustrate how each occurs in the selected example. After covering the communication process, the written assignment will outline the areas that need to be addressed in a formal assessment of my nursing home considering adding a dialysis program. The paper will cover the areas that must be included in the Facility Assessment, including the resident population and institutional capacity, the facility’s resources, and the risks affecting the facility and community. It will also include portions of a sample assessment for explanation purposes. The last section of the written assignment will involve developing an in-service for my governing board on the roles and responsibilities of board members. The essay outlines what must be in the program, including the responsibilities of the board towards the company itself and the administrator.

Question 1

The communication process incorporates ideation, encoding, transmission, receiving, decoding, understanding, and feedback. The process of transmitting an understandable message to an audience or the person one communicates with begins with ideation. Ideation is the process of conceptualizing the message one intends to communicate. The message's recipient must craft a statement that captures their needs and intentions before transmission.
