Dental Hygiene Clinic Reflection
Dental hygiene is an essential component that must be addressed for the overall wellbeing of society. In the signature assignment, different concepts are gained with the potential of preparing an individual for their future role as a dental practitioner. The assignment entails making a risk assessment case study to develop student's dental knowledge and prepare them for the clinical settings. Through the assignment, the student will be able to apply or utilize the knowledge to solve patient problems. The patient case studies are designed to evaluate students and determine their abilities to make appropriate judgments when faced with situations requiring the integration of biomedical and clinical dental knowledge. Usually, each case focuses on the patient, centering on delivering quality care to the individual. Each scenario must present a situation that includes a patient, a set of conditions, and a presenting complaint or problem. The conditions should model real issues that are encountered in dental office settings. Moreover, the problems must represent an area of dental hygiene learned during the coursework.
All these requirements were essential to prepare me for my future career. I will be able to demonstrate knowledge and other essential concepts needed to deliver essential dental care and hygiene. The learning outcomes were achieved, including developing critical thinking skills that are essential for decision-making within the healthcare environment. Many dental care components require outstanding problem-solving skills, which were also enhanced through undertaking the assignment. Several challenges were experienced while completing the assignment.
