Challenges Facing the Atheist Community
The advancement in technology and quality of education has led people into the emergence of a community that believes there is no god. They are called atheists. They neither believe in the existence of gods no sin. (Schiavone et al 5) Atheists are spread across the world with most of them fearing to publicly declare that they do not believe that there is no god. (This trend has recently changed with atheists now forming organizations and electing their representatives in championing their rights)
The atheist community is made up of mostly men. A study that was done in 2014 in the United States of America, the 2014 Religious Landscape Study, shows that there are 68% of men who are atheists. This means that for every ten atheists in the US, seven of them are men. This is the trend in Africa and other continents too. Men from time immemorial are known to assume religious calls, this may be the reason why atheists are more men than women (Schiavone et al. 11)
Surprisingly, atheists do not believe in religion but they have adverse knowledge of religious books. Most of them have mastered the different religious books like the Bible, the Quran and the rest. It is from the content of these religious books that they are convinced that a god does not exist.
They also do not believe that religion plays any role in society. Most religious societies believe that religion solves the issues they are facing.
