The Politics of Aristotle

Question 1

There are a number of Aristotle’s “household management” that is still practiced in society today. According to Aristotle, human beings are social animals, and their main goal is to ensure people work for the betterment of others (Jowett, 1885). It is possible to attain this through different leadership styles. The type of “household management” that is still practiced today is democracy, monarchy, and tyranny. Tyranny is a type of “household management” that society should abolish. The idea that has been forgotten in the 21st century is Aristocracy because it is not relevant. Some aspects of Aristotle have been presented to the world view, which is true, and others are false (Jowett, 1885). One of the false ideas is that some people are more qualified than others to lead society. The ideas presented by Aristotle are essential in governing contemporary society because of the laws and policies that the philosopher has presented.

Question 2

A country can generate wealth if people have the required skills and they have the necessary machines to do specific jobs. According to Smith, the poorest people of the western hemisphere are more wealthy than the Kings of the 12th century because of the increase in productivity (Smith, 2008). Having division of labor is the best way for people to make sure they have wealth.
