- Capaccio, Nancy. How The Lion King Made It to the Stage. Cavendish Square Publishing, LLC, 2018.
This book, authored by Capaccio Nancy, was published in 2018. It gives an in-depth analysis of how the film The Lion King, produced by Disney, became a big success. The book, however, represents the author’s personal opinion of the film basing her research about it as well as her personal experience. Capaccio says the fact that the movie is animated gave it an upper hand in becoming a great film. The choice of the producer, Disney, to use animal characters to communicate human traits was perfect. Both the young and the matured can equally enjoy the film. The producers went an extra clever mile of selecting Kenya as the venue for shooting the film. Kenya is one of the leading East African countries with wild animals attracting almost half of tourists countrywide. The author claims Africans feel included by having the film acted in one of its countries. Conclusively this book finds out that the success of a film is incorporated in many of its aspects including where it was shot, who the characters are and if it is all-inclusive of audiences.
